The obsessively repeated image expresses my attempts to come to terms with the sense of absence within my body, the negation of the familiar roles of the breast as receptive and nurturing, as feminine, as intimate and touchable.
The loss of parts of the landscape of my sensate and sensual body leaves a wholly dark area, a black hole where a part of what constitutes “I” no longer registers, and no longer makes sense.
